The nominees for this year’s Channel O Africa Music Video Awards are out! The nominees were announced at a press conference held at Johannesburg in Mid- July. I know many of us are wondering why some artists were left out in this year’s lists but before we point any fingers we must understand that Channel O ( a major African music television channel based in South Africa), which broadcasts in many African countries chooses their nominees based on airplay on the network. On the bright side, fans will we pleased to see that there are some new musicians been nominated this year for the first time to go alongside heavy hitters. My predicts for this year is that Naeto C, and Amani will be big winners this year. Surprisingly, D’ Banj was only nominated for one, Eldee and Asa none??, Best African West should go to 9ice and 2Face( Street Credibility), Video of the year would probably go to Naeto C for “Ki Ni Big Deal”, and for best female video, Amani should take this one for “Tonight”.
