Africa’s Rap Icon Tic Tac Celebrates 10 Years In Music

204x_mg_6657_778321239_tic_tac_01One of Ghana’s reigning hiplife artists, Tic Tac has launched his 6th album titled, ‘The Tenth Day’ to mark his 10th year in the game. Tic Tac describes the new album, which features productions by likes of Keynote (Nigeria), Jam Master Jay, Seven (USA), Quick Action and several others as a classic. “It is lyrically strong. Production wise, it’s second to none and I think it is a fantastic and classic album”.

It also features collaborations with Keynote, Tinny, Okyeame Kwame and Asem; and it promises to confirm Tic Tac’s position as one of the most formidable and successful artists on the Ghanaian hip-hop scene.
In celebration of his ten years in music, he performed for the first time in Atlanta at Queens International on 08/28/09 and had the crowd moving with hit songs such as ‘Kangaroo’, ‘Menka bio’,’FEfe neEe’, and many more…..Check out his live performance and interview with Afrogist TV below

Tic Tac who has about five albums to his credit and has won over 10 music awards, he was the first Ghanaian artist to collaborate with international artists like Freddy Meiway of Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Nigerian superstar, Tony Tetuila, on his album “Fefe Na Efe”, which received several awards around the world. Tic Tac was the first Ghanaian to perform at Big Brother Africa and also the first African artist to be featured on MTV Base “Making Of The Video” and had his video directed alongside Akon by Gil Green, US director of music video for Brandy, Akon, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes.

Tic Tac’s vision is to educate people through music and help bring awareness on major issues in Africa like poverty, diseases, malnutrition and conflicts, and to promote youth empowerment and self-employment.

  • TicTac is a true representation of african rap music and like the way he keeps
    on emphasising on that part of his musical career.
    I think he has really made Ghana proud and need to be commended not only that, has also kept on going up ever since he started as a teenage boy from Accra till now.
    suviving 10years in the african musical industry is not a joke…. I wish him all the best in the years ahead.
