Coming shortly after the $2000 slam on foreign actors, the Ghollywod stars, Majid Michael and Nadia Buhari will be leading the red carpet with their Nigerian counterparts, Genevieve, Desmond, Uche and Omoni. (more…)

MTV Reality Show Seeks Nigerian Birthday Hosts For New Series.

my-super-sweet-moulin-rouge-partyMTV producers are looking for Nigerian candidates to star in the first ever global series of My Super Sweet, the reality show that focuses on coming-of-age parties and extravagant celebrations.

My Super Sweet is not funded by MTV, MTV only films existing parties funded by consumers and their families. Applications are open to consumers celebrating their 16th to 21st birthdays.

A ratings hit around the world, My Super Sweet is a fly-on-the-wall TV show which offers access all areas to one young person’s outrageous journey as they plot, plan and prepare for the birthday party of a lifetime. (more…)

Meet Eric Obuh (aka Vocal Slender) is an aspiring rap artist from Lagos, Nigeria who’s day job is to scavenge for scrap metal at a Dump.

With almost 16 million inhabitants Lagos is the second most populous city in Africa, and every day more people arrive in search of a better life (it is the seventh fastest growing city in the world). While Lagos may be Nigeria’s most prosperous city, it is a city of vast contrasts.  In areas such as Victoria Island you can find glitzy shopping centres, expensive residential properties, beach resorts, luxury hotels, banks, swanky nightclubs and so on.  The three-part BBC documentary Welcome To Lagos, produced by KEO Films, shed light on the other side of this megacity, including places such as Olusosun, a rubbish dump where about 1000 scavengers work and live. He also shot the remix video of ‘Sote’  by Star Quest Talent hunt winners, “The Pulse”. The shoot took placed at Eko Hotel and Suites with renowned director Clarence Peters. Amosu, 34, is an all-round businessman who started in business at age 12 and now has delved into music, media, fashion, IT and hospitality.  He now secures a place in the Guinness Book of World records! By unveiling the World’s Most Expensive Suit made with Vicuna, Pasmina & Qiviuk, and the finest wools in the world. So what the price tag??? A whopping cost of £70,000 (about $103,000). This news immediately attracted global headlines and great reviews.

Mr. Amosu has indeed partnered with MTN Nigeria to launch the suit in Lagos on December 5, 2009. Apart from Lagos, the world’s most expensive suit will also be launched in London, New York and Abu Dhabi. The young entrepenerer is also the man behind the world’s most expensive phones (diamond-encrusted Blackberry pearl and Apple iPhone) and the limited edition diamond Mont Blanc handcrafted pen.
