GRIP Musik!! The GRIP Boiz are back again with new joints. Both new tracks are freestyle covers for international top hits currently. Rude Gyal is a cover for Rihanna’s joint Rude Boi, and Hold Yuh is a cover for Gyptian. Both tracks are produced by chopsticks.
GRIP Boiz consists of Endia, J-Milla and Yung El. These J-Town rappers have already been making waves in Jos, Abuja, Lagos, and around the globe. They’ve had a couple of joints with other J-Town heavy hitter, jesse jagz, Iceprince & Jeremiah Gyang. Jamiu Adebola Bolarinwa also known as Doggext is a Nigerian artist based in Boston, Massahchusetts. He was born on August 16, 1982 and grew up in Ojuwoye, also known as O.J, in Mushin then moved to Abiodun street still in the same city and in year 2000 he performed at the annual street jamz hosted by Dare with such artists like Dagrin who was known back then as Green Face.

MTV producers are looking for Nigerian candidates to star in the first ever global series of My Super Sweet, the reality show that focuses on coming-of-age parties and extravagant celebrations.
My Super Sweet is not funded by MTV, MTV only films existing parties funded by consumers and their families. Applications are open to consumers celebrating their 16th to 21st birthdays.

LAGOS, Nigeria - A presidential spokesman says that long-ill President Umaru Yar’Adua has died. Presidential spokesman Olusegun Adeniyi told The Associated Press that Yar’Adua died at 9 p.m. (2000 GMT) Wednesday at the Aso Rock presidential villa. (more…)

THE 6th edition of African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held last night in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. And Kunle Afolayan’s movie The Figurine emerged the top winner of the night, claiming all of five awards. However, Afolayan, who only yesterday returned from the New York African Film Festival to attend the event, did not get the coveted Best Director Award. Ghana’s Shirley Frimpong-Manso, director of The Perfect Picture clinched the award. (more…)
